2nd preference: (1) spouse or children of an alien legally admitted for permanent residence; and (2) unmarried sons or daughters of an alien legally admitted for permanent residence

3rd preference: married sons or daughters of a U.S. citizen

4th preference: siblings (brothers or sisters) of a U.S. citizen who is at least 21 years old

Derivative beneficiaries: a spouse or child of the primary alien under the family-sponsored preference is entitled to the same status and order of consideration
